“While I am in the world I will be the light of the world.” John 9:5

Thank you for being a great light to all those who call you Danno.

*~*~*

If you never paid attention perhaps you could have missed the man who stood in the giant’s shadow. It was easy, for he was a quiet gentle man who was content to let another take the lead. Working tirelessly from the shadows, this man possessed a humbleness and had a sense of simple pride that sought out no admiration for his deeds. And so many never realized the greatness in this man.

But to those who knew where to look he was always there, a steady presence and a beacon of light in a world too often filled with darkness.

Loyalty, faithfulness, dedication; he was all those things and so much more that it often bugged the giant that he would forget just how much he depended on the man. A lesser man would have despised the giant for this, grown bitter, or fought back against the lack of recognition...

Danny Williams was not a lesser man.

Danny Williams was one of those rare persons who exist in this world. For you see Danny Williams was a man who possessed a pure soul.

He mourned the men he killed, he cried for the ones he couldn’t save while remaining ignorant of the countless others who thanked God each day for the sacrifices he made.

You would think that the years of dealing with the grim reality of murder and crime would have caused this soul to harden but not the soul of this man. This was a man whose soul retained its innocence and whose light shined even in the deepest darkness.

For you see, the strength of true hero lies not in the deeds that they accomplish but in the hope that they inspire. Danny Williams inspired hope in all who saw his light.

Mahalo a me aloha.
